Children wore shirts with lightning bolts on them in his honour. Newspapers used headlines such as “Zeus Strikes Again” whenever he scored. Even rival supporters admitted that his talent was extraordinary.
Despite the fame, Leo remained humble. Whenever reporters asked him about being called the Zeus of Soccer, he would smile and say, “I am just a player. The real power comes from hard work, my teammates, and the fans who support us.”
Years later, after retiring from the game, people still spoke about his legendary goals. Whenever someone scored an incredible goal, fans would often say, “That was a good goal, but it was not quite worthy of the Zeus of Soccer.”
